Bill White's First Ad Focuses on Education

Houston voters will recognize the White on white production:



Bill White has an extensive education plan on his website. It includes:

• voluntary summer enrichment programs
• expand pre-K programs
• attract and retain great teachers
• close the digital divide
• focus on math and science education
• replicate best practices of high performing schools
• eliminate diploma mills
• reduce dropouts - Expectation Graduation program, multiple pathways to graduation, return dropouts to the classroom
• make 2-year and 4-year colleges more affordable
• support more Tier One universities

My reaction is that this is all good. How refreshing that his first ad is about education - as the driver to moving Texas forward. I often wonder how different our state - and our education system -  would look if stakeholders and elected officials had a single minded focus on graduation. The guy in this ad puts a priority on that, and he's got my vote.
