He makes the mistake of reimbursing himself on Schedule F. Example:
7/23/09 Roy Morales $86.59 Reimbursement for purchase of hard drive
No, Roy, you have to put the vendor as the payee, not yourself - Fry's or what have you. Sigh. And, you have to report it on Schedule G.
There's absolutely no traction here for the only Republican in the race. It's no wonder Beverly Kaufman made that robo dial for Locke.
Bradley Olson with the Houston Chronicle has a great article asking who Republicans will vote for. Gene Locke, the civil rights fighter and one time associate of Stokely Carmichael? Annise Parker, whose "lifestyle" they don't like? Peter Brown who they consider a far left, liberal elitist?
The truth of the matter is that all three viable candidates enjoy Republican support - Locke for his connections, Parker for her proven ability to eliminate governmental waste and conserve tax payer dollars, Brown for his his proven record in the community.
It's a non-partisan race, but the eventual winner will take a big share of the Republican vote in the runoff. Dr. Murray wonders about Locke's "pincer strategy" - if that will be enough. I wonder if Parker will be the more appealing fiscal choice. Or, if Brown will be seen as the safer choice.
