Media Opp with @JoanWalsh -Part 3

Walsh talked about how it's a privilege to be a voice for people. She hears "thank you for being the voice of reason" a lot and it gives her a lot of validation that what she is doing is important. As a woman on TV, lowers her voice, does not curse, gets angry rarely - helps with her credibility.
Karl Rove: convinced Republicans to go straight to their base. That strategy is finally causing them to shrink. Last bad example of that strategy: Palin as choice for VP. Themes of fear and demonization. Walsh has optimism younger generation will reject culture wars. Race less contentious. Abortion, gay rights - not resonating as much.
Issues she really cares about: urban issues - poverty, for example.
Funny - Walsh thought Michael Steele's blog was a joke, like an onion spoof. What up?!
Mary Benton tells us Oprah is going to do a sit down talk with Sarah Palin! Please, yes!! Uh oh, Oprah smarter than Palin and waaay more savvy.
