Fellow blogger David Ortez liveblogged it and it's a great read. Some little things caught my interest:
Parker brings up the fact that the current "real time crime center" needs to be more efficient.
I know we already have a Real Time Crime Center and I'd like to know more about it. The mayoral candidates mention it a lot, but rarely do they tell you we already have one. It's usually an "I support a Real Time Crime Center" type of message, and it makes you think, yeah, we need one of those.
Morales on 287(g):
Morales: I will run PSA that reminds citizens that it is okay to talk to police.
Oh, my. Alrighty. It's always fun to hear from Morales.
Locke on transportation:
Locke: We need to have more HOV lanes and more Park and Rides.
My reaction was, "how do we pay for it and won't this just add more concrete, more drainage problems, and less green space - how will more HOV lanes being built affect businesses?" Otherwise, yes, we need more options to cut down on gridlock - totally agree with that.
Ortez notes Brown has a theme:
Brown: Do more with less.
I assume there are details in his blueprint - specifics on how to do that. I'm interested.
The Chronicle has a report on the debate - at this link.
30-day campaign finance reports are due today. You can search for them on the City's website. We'll find out who has money, enabling them to get their message out to voters - and how they have been spending their money.
