Brown Fires Back with Radio Ad Aimed at Black Community
Not only did Team Brown get a press release out very quickly this morning in response to Locke's negative radio ad, but now they have released their own radio ad aimed at the African American community. Bishop Dixon does not seem pleased with Gene Locke. You can listen to it, as well as read the transcript below:
Hi, this is Bishop James Dixon. Someone has suggested that African American leaders like myself has received money for supporting Peter Brown for Mayor. That is a lie. I am supporting Peter Brown because he protects our schools and preserves our neighborhoods. When HISD wants to close schools in our communities, Peter Brown is the only one of the present mayoral candidates who has stood with African American leaders to stop it. Peter Brown actually has a proven track record of supporting our community on this and many other important issues. That’s why you know the name Peter Brown. Now, myself and others are standing with Peter Brown for Mayor. Join us Tuesday, on November 3rd. Actually, you can vote early from today through Oct. 30th. Vote Peter Brown for Mayor. He works to preserve our schools and protect our neighborhoods. That’s why we are supporting Peter Brown. Political advertising paid for by Peter Brown for Mayor
The words "Peter Brown" are said nine times in the one minute radio spot. That's once every 6.8 seconds. I'm a fan of Team Brown's quick responses today.
I have to wonder if the reference to early voting lasting through Oct. 30th is a subtle dig at the Locke campaign for texting this to their supporters this morning:
Today is the final day for early voting.
So, if you are a Locke supporter, your early voting experience has concluded. If you are a Parker or Brown supporter, please feel free to early vote through next Friday, Oct. 30th - the date early voting actually ends.

Gene is a joke. My choices - Peter Brown or Parker. Two qualified candidates who actually care. Sorry, Gene.
Gene Locke has hired some of the best campaign staff from both the Republican and Democratic sides, at least the most expensive, and smears are what they come up with? I might move him down to my fourth choice.
