Musings Endorses Hillary Clinton For President
This should come as no surprise to readers of musings. I've been a Hillary fan for a long time - even prior to her being First Lady. I was aware of - and admired - her work on education in Arkansas. Is my support for her in part because she is a woman? Of course. We have a historic opportunity to elect the first woman President, which is something I have dearly wanted all my life. I'd like to see a woman's approach to leadership in the Oval Office. Hillary reminds me of the women in my life I admire most - tough, smart, savvy, dedicated to service, finds ways to bring people together and gets things done against difficult odds. This is someone you should never underestimate. That's the kind of person we need as we tackle the difficult problems left behind by the Bush administration. She's done incredible things her whole life to make things better for the least, the last and the lost in our country. We need that type of advocate in the top job in our government. We need a leader who has a history of being solutions-oriented and working across the aisle. To me, Hillary Clinton is the obvious choice for new leadership, a new direction and giving the U.S. back its place in the world. I dedicate this endorsement to my mother, who embodies the same leadership traits, the same dedication to service to others and the same tenacity, toughness and compassion.

I was very moved by your endorsement of Senator Clinton today and also by your beautiful tribute to your mother. She must really be something!*
I must admit, however, that I remain a strong supporter of Senator Barack Obama. For the benefit of those (perhaps few) among your many loyal readers who also support Senator Obama, here is information from
Sunday's Houston Chronicle about his rally in Houston on Tuesday. I hope that you will post this comment for their information.
*Could you post her phone number. I'd like to meet her sometime. Ooops, I forgot. I'm already married. Oh, well!

Obama will make Houston appearance Tuesday
Senator Barack Obama will be in Houston for a rally at the Toyota Center early next week, his campaign announced today.
The candidate's "Stand For Change Rally" at 6 p.m. on Tuesday is scheduled for the first day of early voting for Texas' March 4 primaries. Tickets to the rally are free on a first-come, first-served basis at texas.barackobama.com/houston
Oh. Yeah. I forgot to mention the Messiah is coming to Houston on Tuesday. To save us from hopelessness and changelessness (yes, I just made up that word).
I'll be with Bill on Tuesday.
