In case you thought it was rumormongering, it was not. Harris County D.A., Chuck Rosenthal, did indeed send racially charged emails on County computers. Some of them were sent back and forth to Kelly Siegler's husband. You know, the Nancy Grace-a-like D.A. candidate. There's this for example:Some of the most disturbing e-mails were exchanged between Rosenthal and his friend Sam Siegler.Siegler had this inappropriate nonsense to say (he's a private racist?):Including one Aug. 16, titled “Slick Willy.” The e-mail describes Bill Clinton as the closest thing to having a black man as president, because, “He played the sax…” “He smoked weed,” and “He had his way with ugly white women."
“I'm a private citizen. I'm a doctor, I'm his doctor, we're friends,” Siegler said. “It’s the United States of America, and I didn't think there was anything illegal about that particular e-mail.“I didn't intend for it to be offensive. I didn't e-mail anybody that I thought would be offended by it.”
This intrigues me. Fire up a TEC complaint!:
A couple of dozen e-mails also raise questions as to how much Rosenthal was running his District Attorney campaign from the criminal courthouse.Oh, and there's the naked women stuff:Numerous messages deal with organizing his re-election barbecue fundraiser as well as finalizing his bio for his campaign website.
The documents do indicate the sender one video file: It’s from a website showing unsuspecting women getting their clothes ripped off on public streets. The sender was Dr. Sam Siegler, Rosenthal's personal physician, friend and the husband of Assistant District Attorney Kelly Siegler. She is now a Republican candidate for DA.How the holier than thou have fallen.
UPDATE: The Chron has more, including this from Kelly Siegler:
"He cusses like a sailor and his sense of humor is crude, to put it mildly," she said. "It's his computer and what he does at work is his business. He's the boss."
UPDATE: Photo description from the KHOU story: This e-mail photo was recovered from Harris County District Attorney Chuck Rosenthal's computer. Titled "Fatal Overdose," it depicts a black man lying on a sidewalk, surrounded by half-eaten pieces of watermelon and an empty fried chicken bucket.

On the new GOP candidate, shouldn't she investigate her husband for sending porn in emails?
