Finally! Photos From Rick Noriega's Press Conference

Yeah, I know, he had the press conference on Monday and here it is Saturday. Technical difficulties!

Lt. Col. Rick Noriega formally announced on July 16th, 2007, that he's filed paperwork to create an exploratory committee for the U.S. Senate.

You can be one of the first to contribute to the Rick Noriega for Texas Exploratory Committee by going here. It's ActBlue, so it's easy to donate online. Texas bloggers have rallied behind Rick and are stirring up grassroots support. Even a small donation of $5, $10 or $20 will show people all across the country why Rick Noriega is the candidate to take on Cornyn.

Rick started things off by hugging his dad, Joe Noriega, a truly wonderful man and father.

Rick made his remarks in front of the Heroes of the Alamo monument near the entrance to the state capitol. He told the crowd, "Growing up in Houston, my family taught me the importance of serving my community. I've been privileged to serve this country as a soldier, my state as an elected representative, and Houston as a community leader focused on education. The call to service has been a big part of my life, and I am taking the next step in answering the call."

He continued, "Standing in the shadows of this monument, I'm reminded of our state's great tradition of service and our duty to speak out when things have gone off the rails. Today, our nation is headed in the wrong direction, led by those whose choice is to divide Americans to maintain power.

They ignore the will of the people about the war in Iraq. They ignore the needs of the people for health care, college education, and a better standard of living. They ignore the lessons of our history: that America's strength lies in our unity and diversity.

John Cornyn represents the worst of these trends. And it's time for him to go."

Here Rick is conducting an interview in Spanish with a Spanish language media reporter.

You gotta love this photo. Son Ricky waits for the press conference to start, sitting on a park bench with his grandfather, playing a game.

You can help kick off Rick's campaign to take our country back. Donate to his Senate Exploratory Committee today!
