Rick Perry Knows Too Much About You

The Texas Observer reports on Governor Perry's massive "homeland security" database. It's exhaustive and it's centralized. It's supposed to protect us and keep us safe, but it has information on everything from traffic to stops to ongoing criminal cases to "persons of interest".

There are tens of millions of records, and over 7000 users have access to the data. The database is not run by a law enforcement agency, but rather by the governor and his staff. Security of the database is questionable.

The very serious thing about this is that information means control. Controlling this much information of this type means power. Power that can be used for an ugly purpose.

Texans need to question this. Is the governor building his own kingdom outside of the legislative process?

I'd LOVE to see what they possibly have on me, I have so many aliases it's not even funny, My inability to come to a decision on my name has ended in a nice little letter from the Motor Vehicle Department saying that I've been "flagged" most likely by the intelligence agency LOL
But the problem with information like this, only half of it may be correct and none of it complete. So, it IS a disturbing thought that somewhere here in Texas is a half-assed database of people of interest. But we all know, nothing will happen until it blows up in the media after something major happens... THEN people will start to care...sigh
