Are Tom DeLay's Book Sales Tanking?

Oh, poor Tommy. He's begging folks on his email list to send a message to the New York Times! Ouch. It appears people are ignoring his book with a lie as a title.

From Cut and Run Tom:

Dear Friends:

Have you taken a look at the New York Times bestseller list lately? It's loaded with liberals like Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama -- and even worse, atheist books like The God Delusion and The Jesus Family Tomb.

If you want to help me send a message to the New York Times, which thinks all smart readers are liberal readers, ask your favorite store for my new book, NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER. It's just on sale this week, and (with all modesty) I think you'll find it more appealing than most of what's out there.

Rush Limbaugh was kind enough to contribute the book's foreword, and Sean Hannity graciously wrote a preface.

You can click here to order online from Amazon or click here for Barnes & Noble.

I really don't consider this a book about Tom DeLay. It's about ideas -- the conservative ideas that have changed America for the better since the Reagan years, and could continue to do so if given the chance.

I'm talking about protecting the family and the unborn. Defending our national security at all costs. Shrinking the federal government so it can do less damage. Easing the tax burden. Standing up for people of faith in an increasingly anti-religious culture.

With the help of my talented co-writer, Stephen Mansfield, I've tried to show what really goes on behind closed doors in Washington. I explain how the conservative revolution went astray, and how we can get back on track for 2008. I also share some very personal stories from my life -- the good, the bad, and the ugly.

And of course I talk about the so-called "scandal" that led to my indictment by a politically-motivated prosecutor. The sad truth is that the Democrats plotted to destroy me personally because they couldn't beat me any other way. What we are witnessing is the criminalization of politics, and it's a grave threat to this country.

When you pick up the book, you'll understand why my rallying cry is "No Retreat, No Surrender." Not to the lies of the liberals. Not to the politics of personal destruction. Not to every type of tyranny on earth.

Thank you very much for your support. Keep the faith!

I thank the Chronicle for their headline in Wednesday's paper. His "bully pulpit" indeed. I thought it hilarious that on it's first day out, Barnes & Noble had DeLay's book out on the discount table. What's that term publishers use to describe books that get returned unsold? Remaindered?
