State Rep. John Davis Feeds His Campaign!
For someone who is not really running a campaign to keep his HD-129 seat out there in the Clear Lake area (no headquarters, no mailers, few signs, no website), John Davis sure is having a lot of campaign meetings at restaurants! Perhaps to plan his October 19th Campaign Kick-Off Fish Fry?
Naturally, he has the same date posting problem on his Texas Ethics Commission October filing as he did with the gas - a bunch of meals supposedly eaten on the same day. Sigh. Attention candidates! Hire me to do you TEC filings. I have the many, many mysteries (wink) of those all figured out.
All of these were described as "campaign business meeting" on his latest TEC filing.

Hey, I'm just like John! I ate at Carrabba's today! Unlike John Davis, it wasn't a "campaign meeting" and I don't have campaign cash, so I had to put it on my very own personal Visa card.

why worry? His donors are glad to buy him a truck, his dinners, his home furnishings, his gas.
Gosh. Must be nice to be a state rep with some many people buying stuff for you.
Which proves my point all over again that I need to run for political office and use my campaign cash to shop at Banana Republic, so that I will be cute. People will donate thousands of dollars to my campaign just to see what cute outfit I will wear next.
Or what kind of pickup you drive.
Apparently Mr. Davis was of the impression that campaign finance reports were unimportant documents, that he had a lock on re-election, and that no one would ever have reason to look at his expenditures.
No other reason would explain such blatant stupidity on the part of any candidate.
I totally agree with you, playmisty4me, but Davis should be well aware that SOMEONE is looking very closely at his TEC filings, and this October one should have been beyond approach.
What will it take for him him to get his act together? A Channel 11 story on his ethics violations?
Oh, wait. Lee McGuire, Ch. 11 news reporter already did that story.
Hmmm. What WILL it take?
