TX GOP: DeLay Is A Frivolous Candidate

The lawyers for the TX GOP contended in the Fifth Circuit Court that DeLay is a “frivolous” candidate, and “removing frivolous candidates from the ballot constitutes ‘protection of voters’ under Supreme Court precedent.”

Well, hello. Another Blinding Flash of the Obvious. I've lived in Sugar Land for 12 years and the ENTIRE TIME I have considered DeLay frivolous, at best, and an evil, lying, destructive, law-breaking congressfelon at worst. The RPT is just coming around to this? I certainly wish they had removed him from the ballot years ago to protect THIS voter.

RPT, this is too little, too late.

I think it is time for everyone to Adopt A Sign. Signs go up this weekend. Do it now and help us show Tom that we are really, really happy is still on the ballot. DeLay may be California dreaming, but he is still in Sugar Land. And, he WILL see the signs.

I like it that you picked up on this nuance. What a bunch of morons. I couldn't have written a better script for this "Keystone Kops" scene it I'd had the gifts of Erato. And muse, thanks for pointing out my remiss. Your astute post is now linked.

Thanks for the Adopt a Sign plug. We're starting this weekend but there are some areas of the county where the First Amendment only applies 60 days out from an election.

Me and Ole Bubba couldn't live in one of those areas because we'd purposefully violate the law and spend most nights in the pokey.

Tom DeLay is so used to gaming the system with a marked deck of cards that he's completely at a loss when forced to play in an HONEST game. "No Tom, the rules say you HAVE to go fish!"

Why is it called a "pokey"?

As far as I know, pokey is a corruption of the word pogie which is a 19th century slang term for poorhouse or debtors' prison.

Oh . . . I get it. It was a joke.

Muse, you are unfair in slamming The Politician Former Known as the Hammer as "frivolous," "evil," "lying," and destructive." A recently released scholarly study reveals that the poor man cannot help himself. The title of the study is "Republicanism shown to be genetic in origin." You will find it at this link.
