No DeLay in $600K for Lampson

Great news out of the Nick Lampson campaign! Houston area bloggers got advance word tonight that the Lampson campaign raised $600,000 in the second quarter, beating its goal of $400K. The campaign had lowered its goal of $500K when DeLay dropped out of the race four days into the quarter, thinking that donations might decline.

No way! Support for Lampson continues to build in TX-22 as voters respond to his positive messages about fiscal responsibility, education, health care, national security and bringing integrity back to Washington.

It's time for a change in TX-22!

The Republicans don't know what to do about it. There's a lot of empty talk about a write-in candidate, but that'll probably fizzle. I think they should do what the Democrats do when they have no candidate for the office, suck it up and vote Libertarian.

Anyone been following the State Board of Education Dist. 10 race? The Republican nominee is Cynthia Dunbar of Richmond, who home schools her children and received campaign funds from the Leningers, who support private school vouchers. Her only opposition is Libertarian Martin Thomen of Austin.

I too sense utter defeatism in the GOP ranks...
