DeLay's 2nd Quarter FEC Report

Well, now we know. Tom DeLay's 2nd quarter FEC report is available for all the world to read. Tom, our off again, on again, off again, candidate for TX-22 is draining off money pretty fast, with not much coming in. Here's a summary:

For the whole election cycle, he's taken in almost $4 million. Impressive, no?
But, for the quarter, only around $4700. Not that many people want to back a quitter, I guess.

He disbursed about $864,000 last quarter. Uh, that's a lot. More on the details of that in a minute.

Cash on hand at the beginning of the quarter? $1.45 million.
Cash on hand at the end of the quarter? $641,00.

Where did the money go?
$474,410 in legal fees

$32,396.02 for a FINAL CAR PAYMENT (!)

$34,186.88 to ARMPAC for a list acquisition (DeLay's PAC, er gravy train - has paid his wife and daughter hundreds of thousands of dollars in "consulting" fees over the years)

$2596.56 to the Marriott in Sugar Land Town Square for the Tribute to Tom Delay fundraising event

$450.22 for a strategy meeting at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Arlington, VA on 5/22 (he must LOVE Ruth's Chris. It was at another one in DC where he made his infamous, "I am the federal government" comment. Was he strategizing with Tina Benkizer how to word his resignation letter? Or, how to become the representative from Northern California?)

$8965.10 payroll and insurance reimbursement to Leonard Cash, one of the thugs (one with the airhorn) who disrupted Nick Lampson's press conference in Sugar Land

$22,764.50 in payroll and insurance reimbursement to his daughter, Danielle Ferro

$80,351.71 on direct mail from 4/11-5/12 (this was after he announced he was resigning. What was he mailing?)

$34,190.58 for telemarketing on 4/11 (again after he announced his resignation on 4/4)

All of yall who contributed money to his campaign - feeling good about those donations?

For old times sake, let me repeat Nick Lampson's numbers:

$609,000 raised in the second quarter
$3 million raised total
$2 million cash on hand

He charges his campaign for direct mailings? My Rep, Hensarling sends them out paid for by the taxpayers of TX-05. I guess Hensarling can get away with it since they do not say vote for him.

Good job with the breakdown for Delay. I hope his court crap gets dragged out till election time.

ARMPAC needed money so DeLay sent them some. What did they need money for? Maybe paying $6,000 to Jim Ellis - one of the people who will testify against DeLay.

I know what mass mailing he did after he quit. It was a letter to his constituents dated April 4, 2006. He also emailed the same letter to everyone on his email address book.

I got one because I kept ragging on him about how he was preventing the Government Pension Offset bill (HR 147) from coming to the floor for a vote.

Strange, he doesn't even keep track of who his friends are and who are not in his address book. I do.
