DeLay Has Removal Issues

Not only does DeLay want to be removed from the ballot in TX-22, now he wants his lawsuit removed - to federal court. DeLay's attorneys have filed a notice of removal, seeking to have the Texas Democratic Party's suit against him moved to the U.S. District Court in the Western District of Texas. Why? Is this to expedite things? Get a friendlier judge? One that was appointed by Bush? They haven't been granted the removal, but their reasoning is that the case should be heard in federal court because the Texas Democratic Party argues that there are U.S. Constitutional reasons why DeLay cannot be removed from the ballot. There is great info on the federal judge who will hear the motion at The View From 22 including - are you ready for this? - that he ruled entirely in rhyme on the Barton Springs cleanup case. Maybe in this case he will rule with an Elvis song? Jailhouse Rock? More on the removal process at Fort Bend Now which also has info about the Democrats subpoenaing documents from Fort Bend elected officials.

I think this is so funny!
DeLay critisized the Democrats for going to court because they couldnt beat him in the polls.

Now the Democrats are going to court because they want to beat him at the polls!

What is DeLay's "frivolous" excuse now?

Just move back to Texas and take the defeat like a man Tom!
